Code of Conduct

Fasadglas Bäcklin AB, Code of Conduct for Suppliers & Partners

Fasadglas’ Code of Conduct provides our suppliers and partners with guidelines for decision-making and expected behavior.

The Code of Conduct is based on our values and on initiatives we have adopted, such as the World Economic Forum’s Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI) and the UN Global Compact. These initiatives set out principles on human rights, labor practices, the environment, and anti-corruption.

We encourage all our suppliers and partners to establish their own codes of conduct or similar guidelines, provided that the content of this Supplier Code of Conduct is always adhered to as a minimum.

Fasadglas suppliers must make the content of this Code of Conduct available to all individuals and organizations that provide goods or services within their own value chain.

Who is covered?

This Supplier and Partner Code of Conduct applies to all organizations that supply the Fasadglas Group’s companies with products, materials, personnel, or services, including direct and indirect suppliers, service providers, subcontractors, and agents, as well as, where applicable, employees of the supplier and its subcontractors and agents.

The supplier’s issuance of invoices, provision of goods, personnel, or services, or acceptance of purchase orders constitutes the supplier’s agreement to comply with the guidelines in this Supplier Code of Conduct.

Business Ethics

Fasadglas strives to achieve long-term business relationships and, through environmentally sustainable construction, create added value for customers, users, and shareholders, as well as provide safe and developmental workplaces for all employees.

Our suppliers and partners shall:

  • comply with the laws, regulations, and ordinances applicable where they operate or where they provide services to Fasadglas

  • ensure that all reports, records, and invoices are complete and accurate

  • maintain zero tolerance for bribery and corruption intended to influence a decision

  • avoid situations that may lead to conflicts of interest in cooperation with Fasadglas, for example exploiting relationships with a business partner and Fasadglas for personal gain

  • conduct legitimate business operations where money laundering or illegal payments do not occur

  • respect competition law and not enter into agreements regarding price fixing or market division

  • not use or disclose sensitive or confidential information concerning Fasadglas

  • never share personal data except with employees or partners who have a legitimate business need for the information, and always in accordance with applicable data protection laws

  • impose the same requirements on their subcontractors and business partners in their contracts/policy commitments.

Human Rights

At Fasadglas, we support and respect international conventions on human rights and promote diversity and equality.

Our suppliers and partners shall:

  • maintain zero tolerance for behaviors, statements, or jokes that may be perceived by others as offensive or degrading

  • contribute to a work environment free from hostile, violent, threatening, or bullying behavior

  • not engage in forced labor, such as using violence or threats to make a person work, retaining employees’ identity documents, and must ensure that employees have legal working hours, wages, and benefits in line with laws and industry standards

  • maintain zero tolerance for child labor

  • respect employees’ rights to organize themselves in any workers’ organization and to bargain collectively

  • encourage transparency in the supply chain and take reasonable steps to avoid using raw materials in their production that directly or indirectly finance groups that violate human rights.

Health and Safety at Work

At Fasadglas, we have a zero-accident vision and work continuously to make our workplaces as safe and healthy as possible.

Our suppliers and partners shall:

  • proactively manage health and safety risks to create an accident-free work environment where occupational injuries and work-related illnesses are prevented

  • comply with applicable labor laws, health and safety legislation, or international labor standards established by a recognized international body such as the ILO, depending on which standards provide the strongest protection

  • ensure that employees receive appropriate safety training for their work

  • take responsibility for and never disregard safety devices in workplaces or the need for personal protective equipment

  • report to Fasadglas any health and safety incidents and unsafe working conditions related to Fasadglas projects and worksites

Environmental Responsibility

Fasadglas’ goal is to be able to produce and develop sustainable products with low climate impact that are traceable throughout the entire supply chain.

Fasadglas suppliers shall:

  • ensure that resources are used efficiently and minimize the use of harmful substances, with a focus on climate, energy, materials, waste, and recycling

  • proactively work to continuously improve their environmental performance, which also applies to the development of the products and services they provide

Compliance and Reporting

Fasadglas’ general strategy is to encourage improvement. If a supplier commits serious violations or repeatedly shows unwillingness to make improvements, this may jeopardize the supplier’s business relationship with Fasadglas. Fasadglas will take action against business partners found to be in breach of our guidelines, and in the case of minor, repeated, or serious violations, the business relationship will either be terminated or other measures will be taken.

Fasadglas’ whistleblower function enables employees, suppliers, business partners, and the public to report any violations of Fasadglas’ Code of Conduct. All reports are investigated and handled confidentially.

Our suppliers and partners shall:

  • Notify Fasadglas management if an employee of Fasadglas, a supplier to Fasadglas, or any other party representing Fasadglas violates national laws or Fasadglas’ Code of Conduct

  • Ensure that employees of Fasadglas or suppliers are not subject to reprisals or have their employment jeopardized for choosing to comply with Fasadglas’ Code of Conduct during investigations

  • Inform Fasadglas if the relationship between Fasadglas and the supplier or its subcontractor could result in Fasadglas risking violation of sanctions from the UN, the EU, or the USA
